Playoffs moved/changed

Well as you may have noticed, it is not shaping up to be any draft games tonight. It has not been lacking activity in the admin channel for the last couple of hours though. We have come to a decision and I would briefly like to explain.

There has been some friction this week regarding the draft playoff schedule, wildcard games and easter. We, the admin team, accept our fault on not taking into consideration the effect of easter week/weekend. And we hope some of the teams delaying last Thursday's wildcard came will take some blame upon themselves as well.
To make a long story short this is how it's going to be.

The playoffs structure has been changed to a straightup quarterfinals with ALL teams participating. The playoffs has further more been pushed one week. This means we are scheduling all 4 quarterfinals games this Sunday.
There won't be option to move/delay etc. If one or more teams are not able to play, there will unfortunately be walkovers.

Lets keep the focus on the action instead though.
With this move, we provide action for all teams in playoffs from next Sunday - this means the respective winners of each group, won't have to sit idle for 2 weeks waiting for their next game.

We will contact team captains ASAP to sort out schedules for this Sunday - playoffs bracket will be updated as well. Goldrush betting for current playoff game will be nullified and new one's will be added tonight. Hopefully rkd will have some nice match predictions as well.

We are sorry for the inconvinience. Both to the spectators who will not experience draft action tonight but also to those teams who were dilligent enough to actually show up on all scheduled matches. Special thanks here to Dimman's Dimension and Carapace's Nutcases.

Well it always sux when you can't play when you want to. Consider the alternative though. We give out 2 walkovers tonight + postpone of the quarterfinals.

Cause that's the reality we are faced with - and why we came to this conclusion. Btw it wasn't that easy decision for us. We had 2 ways to go forward. Stick with the current system/schedule. resulting in 2 walkovers and probable postponing of at least one of the quarterfinals.

The other was what you see in the newspost.
This was decided with a 3-2 admin vote.

So if you can accept those terms and conditions I suggest you look forward instead - I think it's still gonna be a great playoffs and this bump in the road should be considered just that.. a bump!

I do appeal to all remaining teams though to do their utmost effort to actually play on Sunday - nomore shenanigans, or you feel see some suckiness :)

it certainly is unfortunate, we were ready here both thursday and sunday, and warmed up / pracced etc.. but ye it's still better than handing out several WO's i guess.

But next sunday I assume it's a straight WO for a noshow.

But I dont understand why the change of playoff structure though? That is the weird part.. you can just play some pracs or whatever with your team if you don't feel like idleing, it's only 2 teams that had to wait for 1 extra week.. no big deal ?

I don't care about the playoff structure, the normal system works just as fine but it's just weird to suddenly change it this late..

Btw who plays who in the semi's ?

Actually it would have been straight WO's this last week also, if it wasn't for the fact we had a fault on the schedule issues. We realized some teams were not so coorporative when it came to showing up etc. But we didn't wanna give out so many WO's when we were at least partly to blame. Hadn't it been for easter it would have looked different. Let's just focus on getting all games played this Sunday - will be great I'm sure :)

It was a right call not to give any WOs. It was a bad week/weekend for gaming cause of holidays. We did not have 4 on time either so it would have been one more WO :)

It is always better to have games than WOs. This minor mishap doesnt take away from the fact that this has been a great project in terms of interesting matches. Hope to see some good playoff action as well.

Murdoc, I think razor wants to know wich quarter final winners will play against eachother in the semis.

Like for exampel in EQL: Winner of 1vs8 will meet the winner of 4vs5 and the winner of 2vs7 will meet the winner of 3vs6.
