Some Draft League Articles RSS feed http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/ RSS Feed Of Latest Articles. Sunday Finals! http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/6#Comments First of all today we have the bronze games in both divisions. In Div1 we find last seaon's finalist team Zero facing of versus team Rikoll.

Div1 bronze game
Team Rikoll has (accoring to the ( stats page) not been playing all week. And that would have been bad if not for Team Zero
This Game will show us what the teams have learned during the season in terms of teamplay and individual development.

My Bet is that Zero will take this home in a 3-1 victory.

In the Div2 bronze game we have once again Team Rikoll . but this time they are up against Team Milton .
Neither of these teams seems to have played during the week so this is the same deal as the Div1 finals. If Pai is playing then Team Milton will have the advantage else this will be a slugfestl.

Div2 Finals

Ganons secondary team will clash with Paradoks' secondary team In the div2 Finals. Ganons team hasn't played a game for two week while Paradoks team played semifinals last week. Can Ganons team show us they have the teamplay and discipline to beat team Paradoks

This will (according to me) be a tight game. But since I'm a bit biased I will give Paradoks the win with 3-2.

Div1 Finals
For the main event of the evening I Present in the red corner Team Carpace! .
And in the blue corner we have last seaons finalist Team Milton! .

This will be a tight game for sure. Lately in pracs Milton has shown a chink in his armor and actually lost a game. Further on we can see that Carapace and Milton played a very even prac during the groupstages and hopefully Carapace has Miltons number on a few of the maps.

My prediction is that Milton will win this, but it won't be without a fight from Carapce. Expect some close games and last minute fraghunting. 3-1 in favor of Milton Season 3 semifinals on sunday! http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/5#Comments Div1: 18:30 Carapace vs Zero / 20:30 Rikoll vs Milton
Div2: 18:30 Ganon vs Rikoll / 20:30 Paradoks vs Milton

Whos gonna make it to the finals?! Sunday's Quarterfinal schedule http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/4#Comments Here you can find the schedule for tomorrow's games. We cant update the site since swi is still missing. Be there in time tomorrow! There's gonna be plenty of hot games to watch! Tonight's schedule http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/3#Comments . Signups pushed one week http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/2#Comments Some people are apparently still on holiday (but why??). So this is hurting our signups pretty bad. We only have 89 so far and it is not even close to what we had last season.

So we decided to push the signup period one more week, in hopes that we can reach at minimum last seasons signup numbers. But I would really like if we reached the goals we set out for this season, so we can get more teams in each division.

The new deadline for signups is Saturday, January 12th. 2013

We aren't really getting much feedback from the community. The forum is quiet, the comment replies here are a bare minimum, so all we have to go on is the signup numbers. If there is a general reason as to why people are not signing up, that we can do something about, please let us know and we will consider all feedback.

Hopefully it is all holiday jitters and we will see some last week-signups coming in. I am getting pretty anxious for some draft action again. I would hate to wait as long as we did last year =)

A change has been made to the signup form as well. It is no longer an option to restrict yourself to a lower division. You can select "only div1" or "any div". We do not want potential mid/low players that might get picked in div1 teams, to limit themselves to div2.

On the signup list you can see who played last season, but did not signup. Go poke them and other QuakeWorld friends you might have, that you think would be interested in playing in the draft. We are super active during the draft seasons and there is a ton of tight games. Season 3 signups are open! http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/1#Comments Signups

The signups have officially opened and you can signup here with your QuakeWorld.nu login.
The signup period will end on Saturday the 5th. of Janurary 2013.

We no longer require you to give notice if you wan't to be a captain or not.
Please be adviced to put in your location of where you are playing from, not your nationality.
Activity field can be a nice indicator for captains when picking teams as well, so if possible fill that out.

If for some reason you wish to change your signup form after, contact an admin in #draft.qw on IRC and we'll try to get it sorted as quickly as possible.

Live draft

As it looks now we will stick with the same routine from last season. It has been really hard to come up with a good system that includes division 2 captains and merge this with the live draft show. However I am confident that based on last seasons results, div 1 captains will be better equipped to pick players.

Eventhough we don't have dedicated div2 captains it showed that leadership was lacking last season. Div2 players were looking to the div1 captain to take charge, but they don't have time for that. This season the div2 teams will promote one player internally to be their manager, after the teams have been formed. He will be responsible for making sure his team are onboard, willing to play, showing up for games etc. If there are players in your team missing or idling, talk to your team about it and confer with the div1 captain and admins to try and get that player replaced.

Swapping players or taking in free agents has to be approved by the corresponding div1 captain and the admins.

Tournament system

Just like last season, we have to wait to see how many signups we get, before we can decide on the tournament system, mainly playoffs.
We predict, and hope, to get at least players for 20 teams (10 each division). This will negate wildcard games and send 8 teams from each division straight to playoffs and QuarterFinals.

Our experiment regarding games on weekdays failed miserably and we will stick to Sunday games. There might be exceptions for rescheduled or catchup games.

Rules

We have given the rules section a once-over and some notable changes are as follows:

Third place decider: This is now mandatory to help seed players for next season. But based on last season it finally looks like the QuakeWorld scene is no longer afraid of this part of the tournament :)

Seperating teams with equal points: This rule now follows individual results first then map wins, and so forth.

Server and minping: Ping rules has been revamped as well. It's based on the old ping rules where any ping above 51ms is counted as 51, except we changed this value to 65. But we now have a slight buffer so avg. ping difference below 15ms is considered fair. We urge teams to show fairplay in generel on this issue and for highpingers to accept the playing conditions they are used to compete with on a daily basis.

I urge you to read the rules section through before signing up and notify admins if you find errors or have oppinions on rule changes. We appreciate all constructive feedback. But above all we hope players can excert common sense, fairplay and sportsman ship - which is something we are happy to say, seems to be the norm in Salvation draft thus far.

Schedule

The schedule isn't set in stone yet, but the preliminary schedule is as follows:

Timeline

Signups start: Friday. Dec. 21th
Signups end: Saturday. Jan. 5th.

Live Draft Pick Sunday, Jan. 6th.

Groupgames 1st. round Sunday, Jan. 13th.
Groupgames 2nd. round Sunday, Jan. 20th.

Quarter Finals Sunday, Jan. 27th.
Semifinals Sunday, Feb. 3rd.
Grand Finals Sunday, Feb. 10th.

Depending on how many sign up, we might adjust the schedule accordingly.

I guess there is nothing more to say than SIGNUP, merry christmas and a happy new year :)

source signup - schedule - rules - forum
