Monday Night Recap Week 2 http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/19#Comments Our guest this week was andeh who players in Milton's div2 team and has done very well this season. Even if they missed a secured spot in the semifinals on Sunday they are still in the race. They have to face Rikoll's 2nd team in the first wildcard game. This was decided yesterday after they played both of their remaining matches. We get his insight into those games as well as the rest of the games in division 2. There was a bit of drama with Dimman's division 2 team and Marvel & co. so if you want to watch more go checkout last nights recap show

Links: Life Draft Show - Week 1 Recap - Week 2 Recap - Playoffs Bracket Monday Night Recap http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/18#Comments You can watch the 45minute show on our Twitch archive. Me and nitram were discussing results and interesting players from both div1 and div2, a bit prediction for next weeks action and some 'boring announcements'. So if you want to be up2date in the draft tourney, tune in ASAP :) We're off to the races! http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/16#Comments If you missed last night's awesome show where 8 captains picked players for division 1 and 2 of this season you can catch it in the stream archive:

Live Draft Picks (1 hour 31min Yesterday)
Live Group Draw - and Recap (46 minutes Today)

Today's stream I had nitram and zero on the show where you can hear us talk a bit about the teams that were formed last night, thoughts about division 2, the activity spike we've seen and more.

Of course we also did a live group draw, and the finalized groups you can check in the menu on the right.

I made a plug for nitram's QuakeWorld.nu blog where he has written extensive primary team introductions. The first 4 teams are covered and the rest will come in the next few days. Be sure to give them a read as they are awesome!

They will give you great insight into player backgrounds and team synergy. This info is crucial if you want to be a winner in our Goldrush competition :)

More info on that as soon as we have full access and matches added.

We also have a roster change in Division 2 already, as Dahmer pulled out from Dimman's secondary team. Essoid stepped up there and will try to fill his shoes in what looks to be an interesting team.

For those who don't like my voice and skips the shows, you don't wanna miss out on another little gem I mentioned there. http://www.quakeworld.nu/media/?s=ddk - ddk's 4v4 guide over in QuakeWorld.nu's video archive.

See you on the servers, time to get in shape :) Live Player Drafting http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/15#Comments We got a whopping 113 signups which is quite an impressive turnout considering how late the 4on4 season started this season. As you know we promised to include more players this time around. So here is the breakdown on how we are going to run it.

There will be 2 divisions. 8 top seeded 4on4 players have been selected as captains to pick players for both div1 and div2 teams. The div1 teams will have 5 players and div2 teams will have 6 players. Captains are seeded beforehand and pick order is listed in the rules.

Last season we only had 1 division and if a player quit mid season, we had the option to take a player from the "free agents" pool. This included players who signed up but did not get picked, but this season it's a little different. The free agents pool would then be players that did not get picked for div2. That isn't really useful for the div1 replacements. So to try and solve this issue, the captain for a team in div1 can use stand-in players from the team he selected in div2 if needed.
Those 2 teams will have no conflicting match time during each Sunday so hopefully no overlapping games in case a div2 player has to substitute for his corresponding div1 team.

Captains have received the full signup list including a personal seeding tool to help them personalize and seed the players at their discretion. This should help them prepare for the live draft pick and hopefully form the best possible teams.

Links: Schedule, Stream, Forum, Captains Signups open http://draft.quakeworld.nu/season2/news/14#Comments A lot of people are wondering, when the Draft is going to start up again. The last season was a huge success and you could say the whole QuakeWorld season ended on a high note. Just as the season ended, the summer began. It was planned initially to run a summer draft but with Diablo 3 launch and QW going in to it's usual activity decline it just didn't happen.

The concept of a Draft league last season was focused towards div1 and div0 players. What we lacked in division 1 of EQL last and previous seasons was a diverse and active clan scene we could compete with on even footing.
With the draft system we now had 10 equal teams, all including top players - a dream come true for many die hard 4on4 fans that were struggling to keep interest in playing 4on4 on a high level.

Whilst the participating players were enjoying themselves immensely, as well as a lot of spectators following the event, there were many players who wanted to be a part of this. We really struggled coming up with a good system to include more players and make it the same success. I admit, we still are. I wouldn't exactly describe it as an overwhelming interest in Draft starting up again with fan mail dropping in by the hundreds and with one of the key forces behind the Draft concept (murdoc) leaving the scene and other members of the admin team going inactive it's been hard finding the motivation to get the ball rolling. But it seems people refuse to give up and are demanding that we launch another season.

It was much easier to start it last season during EQL when we could scout captains beforehand and design the tournament after that. It is a lot harder this season when we don't have any expectations how many players are interested and there are no clans active at the moment or any ongoing EQL. We promised last time that the 2nd season would open up for a broader player base and it would be a shame if we failed to follow through.

So here is the plan so far:

How many teams we can make is totally dependent on how many signups we get and how sincere those signups are in participating on a strict schedule. The schedule will be like last season where all games are played on Sunday. There are 3 possible match times(CET): 18:30, 20:00 and 21:30. Your team will play 2 games each Sunday. We want to end the tournament in mid-December before the holidays set in, so the structure will be tailored to match that.

It is open for anyone to signup and if we get enough signups we will try to make 2 different divisions.

We have improved the signup procedure over last season (thanks swi) and it is now done via your QuakeWorld.nu account. So click this signup link and fill out the necessary information if you want to participate.

The signups closes November 5th 23:59CET

You can also visit our forum over at QuakeWorld.nu.
